Battling against and confronting the representations of women and People of Colour through the use of highly detailed watercolour paintings, Shari Phoenix, is a contemporary artist living and working in Barbados. Born in 1997, she completed her Associate’s degree in visual art in 2016 and her Bachelor’s in fine arts at the Barbados community college.

Her work seeks to deconstruct and interrogate societal views on the Black body, ideas of perfection and beauty and the recurring use of the caricature. Her work has exhibited internationally at Prizm art fair Miami and few local exhibitions.
