Faelerie or Fae (b. 1994), is a young Indonesian artist who uniquely explores crochet techniques in her works. The world of her imagination is woven together as embroidered stories, juxtaposed with fabric and beads to create drama on her canvas. Fae studied painting and graphic arts at the Indonesian Art Institute, and later moved on to explore the embroidery process. Her mother was a tailor and this has had a great influence in her artistic development, her familiarity with sewing techniques and knowledge of fabric properties. She wants to continue exploring this mixed media technique and is excitedly looking forward to her future artistic journey.
