Makano Bwato
Congolese artist living in Uganda
Born in 2000, Makano is a Congolese artist living in Uganda as a refugee since 2018. After losing his parents in a civil war back in DRC and becoming a refugee, art became his voice. His art was born out of depression and frustration. In 2021, Makano won the Positive Memories art contest organized by Faces Up Uganda with support from African Culture Fund, Mali. He is being showcased and represented by Faces Up Uganda, ShowRoom, and Undugu Art Gallery, Entebbe.
