Anushka Kempken was born in 1996 and is a visual artist based in Cape Town, South Africa. She explores different ways of manipulating surface materials through weaving techniques, creating ambiguity and depth. Anushka sees her work as a continuation of the organic harmony seen in nature and life. Her art making process is a series of intuitive decisions that result in a mess or harmony of individual stories that come together. A process of calming the storm and bringing order to chaos. She studied a BA in Fine Art at the University of Pretoria and has exhibited her work all over South Africa, including at the Zeitz MOCAA in Cape Town and The Project Space in Johannesburg.
