Jharna Monger
Realistic Portrait and Landscape Artist from Bhutan
Jharna Monger, born in Sarpang in 1996, discovered her passion for art in 2008, inspired by her sister’s drawings. Her father’s introduction to VAST Bhutan provided a crucial platform for growth, leading to an art scholarship and further studies in Applied Arts at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Vadodara, India. Currently interning at VAST, Monger is dedicated to giving back to the community that nurtured her talent. Primarily working with pencil and acrylic, her art encompasses portraits, landscapes, and illustrations/designs, with a focus on realistic detail cultivated during her graphic design studies. She aims to evoke happiness and peace through her work, particularly in her portraits of elderly people and young children that capture genuine moments of joy.
