Yeshi Choden
Bhutanese artist
Yeshi Choden, born in Trashigang, Bhutan in 1998, discovered a love for art at a young age, nurtured by a family with an appreciation for creativity. Her sketchbook and pencil became constant companions, serving as tools for expressing her thoughts and pushing her creative boundaries. Choden’s artistic journey is one of continuous exploration, fueled by a desire to constantly improve and experiment. From challenging herself to use unconventional mediums (even eyebrow pencil!) to embracing diverse styles and techniques, her artistry reflects a deep engagement with the creative process. Joining VAST Bhutan opened new horizons, inspiring her to step outside her comfort zone and learn from the diverse artistic community. This led her to a scholarship at BeaconHouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan, further enriching her artistic education. Choden finds inspiration in the people and places she encounters, and imbues her work with a personal touch that is reflected in her dedication to producing meaningful art.
