Samantha Shields is a Canadian painter based in Calgary, Alberta, where she lives with her family. A 2024 graduate of the Masters of Fine Art program at Maine College of Art and Design, Shields has exhibited her work in both Canada and the United States, including at the Quentin Doolittle Gallery in Calgary and the Zand Head Gallery in Portland, ME. Prior to her art career, Shields served in the U.S. Air Force as an Arabic translator and later earned a BFA in Architecture from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After working as an architectural designer, she transitioned to painting, bringing a unique perspective informed by her diverse experiences to her fine art practice.
