Karvarus La’Fredrick Moore is a painter and draftsman from Montgomery, Alabama, currently pursuing an MFA in Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. A 2019 BFA graduate from Troy University, Moore’s work explores the intersections of faith, identity, and shared humanity. Drawing on his experience as a Christian, a Black man, and an artist, his practice is rooted in emotional vulnerability and spiritual reflection. Through expressive portraiture and still life, Moore captures the beauty, struggle, and complexity of the human experience—often portraying family, friends, strangers, and himself. His work invites viewers into deeply personal narratives that celebrate the dignity and divine resonance within everyday lives.
