Artist Profile

Billy Megargel
Autistic artist from the USA
William “Billy” Megargel (he/him) is an autistic artist whose bold, expressive paintings speak where words cannot. Based in Massachusetts, Billy transforms everyday tools—paint rollers, whisks, bamboo utensils, even turkey basters—into instruments of vibrant, physical expression. His technique involves flicking, raking, and layering paint to create textured, immersive compositions that radiate energy and emotion. Despite living with acute episodic pain and the daily challenges of autism, Billy’s art is a celebration of sensation, resilience, and beauty. A passionate communicator through color and movement, he is also a dedicated yogi and independent communicator. His work is held in private and corporate collections, with permanent installations at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Lurie Center for Autism, where it continues to inspire and uplift.
