Artist Profile

Olivia Martha
Dutch–Curaçaoan artist
Olivia Mieke Maria-Paulina Martha (b. 1998, Belgium) is a Dutch-Curaçaoan artist currently completing her MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art, where she was awarded the Frank Bowling Scholarship. With a BA in Painting from Camberwell (UAL) and a prior law degree from SOAS, University of London, her interdisciplinary background informs a practice rooted in the philosophical and visual exploration. Olivia’s compositions resist static interpretation, instead inviting viewers into dynamic spaces of reflection where emotional, intellectual, and sensory dimensions intersect. Her use of color, form, and negative space is deliberate yet exploratory—each mark a trace of inquiry rather than a declaration. In this way, her paintings function as visual essays: open-ended, recursive, and alive with possibility.
