Artist Profile

Anselme Alma Servain
French visual artist
Anselme Alma Servain is a French visual artist whose work navigates the intimate intersections of queer identity, beauty, and self-disclosure. Working primarily with photography, Anselme explores the body as both subject and symbol through intuitive self-portraiture—often blurring the boundaries between the desiring self and the desired image. His practice is deeply rooted in vulnerability and erotic introspection, using the lens to confront and complicate notions of identity, intimacy, and grief within queer experience. A graduate in French literature from Sorbonne Université (2020), he is currently studying photography at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Through his work, Anselme seeks to visualize the emotional and psychological landscapes that shape contemporary queer existence.
