Artist Profile

Tulia Day
Philadelphia-based multidisciplinary artist
Tulia Day is a Philadelphia-based multidisciplinary artist whose work explores vulnerability, transformation, and the human body as a site of both struggle and transcendence. Drawing from observational practice and inspired by myths and fairytales, she creates emotionally resonant portraits—often in oil or chalk pastel—that center figures in moments of solitude, introspection, and radical self-reckoning. A graduate of Hamilton College, Tulia is a co-curator of the Upstairs Smoking Section Art Collective and has exhibited nationally. Her work challenges societal norms of shame and objectification, offering instead a vision of compassionate, embodied truth.
