Janhavi Khemka (b. 1993, Varanasi, India) is an interdisciplinary artist working between India and Chicago, whose practice explores the intimate intersections of printmaking, animation, fiber arts, and performance. Currently pursuing an MFA in Printmedia at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, she holds prior degrees in Painting and Printmaking from Banaras Hindu University (2015) and an MFA in Printmaking from Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan (2017). Her work, rooted in the personal and shaped by her experiences as a Deaf individual, maps tactile and visual narratives as alternatives to auditory perception. Khemka has exhibited across India, the US, the UK, Korea, and Norway.
