Gbenga Eniafe
Self-taught contemporary visual artist from Nigeria
Born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1994, Eniafe Gbenga Michael is a self-taught contemporary visual artist currently practicing in Lagos. Working primarily with acrylic and oil on canvas, his art explores soul-impersonating patterns, abstract face expressionism, and figurative realism, creating evocative visual narratives that reflect both individuality and collective human experience. A graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, with a degree in Animal Nutrition and Feed Technology, Eniafe began his professional artistic journey in 2018 with portraiture before expanding into body and face painting, developing a signature style rooted in intricate linear patterns. His talent has led him to work with distinguished figures including a former President of Nigeria, a State Governor, and other notable personalities, as well as at high-profile events such as TEDx. In 2022–2023, he exhibited at the Gainsborough Hotel in England with the Cynthia Corbett Gallery and has been featured in prominent magazines in both the U.S. and the U.K. Despite having no formal art education, Eniafe has honed his craft through dedication, practice, and real-world experience, continually evolving his artistic voice.
