Devon Grimes is a New York City–based painter and creative whose work celebrates freedom, curiosity, and the beauty of everyday life. Traditionally trained, she uses her art as a space to explore subjects that inspire her without the constraints of cohesion or theme. Known for her fascination with linear movement and unexpected color relationships, Grimes creates compositions that flatten form and simplify shape while maintaining emotional depth. Though she primarily studies the human face, her decade-long career in floral design and styling informs her vivid portrayals of flowers and food. Raised in Virginia, she holds a BA in Oil Painting from the University of Virginia, where she studied under Professors Philip Geiger and Megan Marlatt. She currently lives in Brooklyn with her dog and muse, Betty, balancing her painting practice with acting, poetry, and an ever-present sense of humor.
