Artist Profile

Favour Isioma
Nigerian visual artist
Favour Isioma (b. 2002) is a Nigerian visual artist from Anambra State, living and working in Ibadan, Oyo State. A 2023 graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University with a B.Sc. in Fine and Applied Arts (Painting), she creates emotionally resonant works that explore the depth and complexity of human feeling. Working primarily with acrylic and mixed media, Favour employs abstract realism and subtly distorted human forms to mirror the ways emotions transform us internally. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including in the Undiscovered Abuja Exhibition (2025), the Things Fall Apart Exhibition (2025), the 2024 Artists Commune exhibition, and HEARTSCAPES, the culminating show of her residency with the African Female Artists Mentorship Program. Driven by a personal journey of learning to understand and express emotion, she has developed a visual language that functions as both translation and therapeutic process. Through her practice, she advocates for emotional wellbeing as a universal necessity, creating art that invites empathy, connection, and self-recognition, especially for those whose emotional realities are often overlooked or marginalised.
