Artist Profile
Abel Bedilu
Photographer and printmaker
Abel Bedilu (b. 2001, Ethiopia) is an Addis Ababa–based artist whose practice bridges monotype printmaking and experimental street photography to explore movement, memory, and the transient nature of urban life. Drawn to the blur of motion in fast-moving crowds, he transforms these fleeting visual impressions into dynamic monoprints that echo the impermanence of time and the individuality of each moment. Embracing chance and the physicality of printmaking, often experimenting with found materials, Abel creates atmospheric, one-of-a-kind works that reflect a generation suspended between inertia and progress, using abstraction as a visual language for disconnection, introspection, and the shifting rhythms of contemporary existence.
