Aissa Joud is a Moroccan artist from Ouarzazate, a city renowned as Morocco’s “Little Hollywood” for its cinematic landscapes and historic architecture. Rooted in the rich visual and cultural heritage of his hometown, Aissa’s work reflects a dialogue between history, environment, and contemporary life. He began his artistic journey selling works to local tourists, an early encouragement that led him to pursue formal arts education. While his studies provided technical and conceptual depth, they also brought personal challenges, including isolation and self-doubt. Through perseverance, exhibitions, and a transformative residency with the ARKANE association, Aissa overcame these obstacles, channeling his experiences into a dynamic and evolving practice.
