Ana Bagayan is a Los Angeles–based artist whose work explores the metaphysical and the unknown, drawing inspiration from extraterrestrials, spirits, ghosts, interdimensional beings, and alternate realities. Her practice investigates the idea of humanity as a small fragment within an unimaginably vast universe, often referencing hypnosis sessions of individuals who believe they have experienced alien abduction, as well as historical accounts of mass UFO sightings worldwide. Through these narratives, Bagayan creates human–alien hybrid figures that visualize encounters between the known and the unknowable. Her work embraces the inherent beauty found in interpreting mystery, belief, and the blurred boundaries between reality and the metaphysical.
