Ventura Mulalene Zucula, known as Mulalene, is a Mozambican visual artist whose practice has developed through active participation in exhibitions and cultural initiatives across the country. He began his artistic career in 2009 with a group exhibition at Casa da Cultura in Inhambane and later pursued formal training in the arts, earning a degree in Textiles and Pedagogical Training from ENAV and a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from ISArC. His work has gained recognition through awards and nominations, including the “Bridge That Connects Lives” painting prize from the Mozambican-German Cultural Center (CCMA) in 2018 and a nomination for the Mozal Art Award in 2019.
