Artist Profile
Charlotte Walker
Fine Art student from the UK
Charlotte Walker is a third-year Fine Art student whose sculptural practice exclusively employs found and repurposed materials, ranging from discarded wood and scrap metal to abandoned trolleys and industrial remnants. Working within a closed-loop process, she transforms these materials into vibrant, large-scale works that explore sustainability, durability, and impermanence, often reconfiguring elements from previous projects into new compositions. Her use of bold colour and assemblage echoes the strategies of contemporary artists such as Choi Jeong-Hwa, while asserting a distinct focus on ecological responsibility and material reinvention. Through this approach, Charlotte pushes against the limitations of traditional sculpture, developing a practice rooted in reuse and transformation, and producing works that engage critically with questions of consumption, waste, and value in contemporary culture.
