Barbara Kosakowska (Kraków, Poland) is a Polish photographer and visual artist whose practice explores memory, childhood, and the blurred boundary between reality and imagination. A graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, she works primarily with photography and installation. Drawing inspiration from biology, botany, pathology, and fairy tales, Kosakowska creates poetic visual narratives that reconstruct fragments of personal and collective memory. Her work reflects on the fragile nature of recollection, often revisiting childhood experiences while acknowledging the subjective and sometimes unreliable nature of memory. Through staged and documentary-like imagery, she reimagines the everyday, transforming it into intimate visual stories that preserve fleeting moments and emotions. Kosakowska has participated in several group exhibitions across Poland.
