Artist Profile
Guoshu Qin
Chinese artist based between Munich and London
Guoshu Qin is a Chinese artist based between Munich and London, whose painting practice explores the absurdity and dark humour embedded in contemporary digital culture. Drawing inspiration from internet phenomena such as memes, virtual identities, and everyday digital interactions, she creates narrative-driven works that merge popular culture with a distinctly personal visual language. Her paintings channel raw, instinctive responses to the world, embracing spontaneity and emotional immediacy as a way of translating experience into image. Balancing satire and introspection, Qin reflects on the peculiarities of millennial culture through a lens that is both playful and unsettling. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Arts Bremen and previously worked as an interaction designer in the automotive industry before fully dedicating herself to her artistic practice.
