Artist Profile
Laura Dzelzyte
Lithuanian multidisciplinary artist
Laura is a Lithuanian painter and sculptor based in London. She studied at the University of Cambridge and completed a Graduate Diploma in Fine Art at the Royal Academy of Arts, where she is currently pursuing an MA in Painting. Her practice explores internal conflicts—particularly the tension between the inner self and socially and culturally constructed identities—and how these shape perception and experience. Drawing on philosophy and the imagery of the old masters, she reinterprets religious and canonical narratives, such as the Annunciation, to construct alternative readings that expose paradoxes surrounding power, agency, and freedom of choice. Working across painting, glass, wax, and immersive installation, she foregrounds materiality as a means of evoking layered, multisensory experiences. Laura has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, with works held in collections across Europe and the United Kingdom.
