Jennifer Bell is a contemporary artist based in Brisbane whose practice transforms repurposed waste materials into intricate, vibrant works exploring perception, pattern, and sustainability. Working primarily with recycled cardboard and acrylic paint, Bell cuts, tears, moulds, and assembles discarded shipping materials into richly textured compositions that challenge conventional ideas of paper as a medium. Her work is also deeply informed by her experience of a rare neuro-ophthalmological condition associated with persistent visual disturbances, reflected through dynamic repetitions, bold colour, and kaleidoscopic detail.
