Artist Profile
Foster Boyajian
Boston-based artist
Foster Boyajian is a Boston-based artist whose practice explores the dynamic relationship between color, form, and the body’s sensory and emotional experience. Working across printmaking and large-scale abstract painting, Boyajian investigates how scale, gesture, and chromatic intensity shape perception and physical response. Her paintings emerge through instinctual movements and performative processes, resulting in immersive compositions that confront the viewer with layers of texture, rhythm, and energy. In contrast, her smaller prints invite quieter, more intimate moments of contemplation, emphasizing subtle shifts in form and material presence. Central to her practice is an iterative approach in which each work evolves through an ongoing dialogue between artist, process, and viewer, with paintings and prints continuously informing one another. Through expansive abstraction and tactile sensitivity, Foster Boyajian’s work reflects on perception, embodiment, and the cyclical nature of creation, offering experiences that oscillate between immediacy and introspection.
