Megan Weeda
Figurative oil painter from the US
Megan Weeda is a figurative oil painter from Dayton whose practice explores the relationship between memory, perception, and visual reconstruction. She earned her BFA from the University of Dayton and is currently an MFA candidate at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, graduating in 2025. Working from a lived experience of aphantasia, Weeda uses painting as a method of translating non-visual memory into image, reimagining people, places, and moments that shape her personal history. Through expressive use of color and distortion, her work reconstructs recollection as something fluid and unstable, inviting viewers to consider how identity is formed through evolving and imperfect acts of remembering.
