Cadence Yee is a multidisciplinary artist based in Burnaby, British Columbia, whose practice spans painting, textiles, sculpture, print media, Indigenous carving, and toolmaking. Drawing inspiration from the natural world—particularly aquatic life and marine ecosystems—her work reflects a deep appreciation for the ocean and its diverse inhabitants. Through intricate material processes, Yee explores texture, form, and storytelling, often combining traditional and contemporary techniques to create richly layered works. Her practice is grounded in textiles and printmaking, with a particular focus on intaglio etching, while the incorporation of glass beadwork and embroidery adds tactile depth and delicate detail.
