Artist Profile
Fabia Escobar
Visual artist based in Brazil
Fabia Escobar is a visual artist whose practice investigates the hidden histories and social energies embedded within discarded materials. Working primarily with reclaimed wood and fragments of everyday objects since 2014, she transforms what has been abandoned into carefully composed works that explore memory, impermanence and renewal. Drawing on her background in graphic and product design, Escobar approaches found materials with a sensitivity to structure, balance and visual rhythm, while remaining attentive to the traces of use and human presence they carry. Through processes of deconstruction and reassembly, she creates compositions that evoke both order and chance, reflecting the ways objects accumulate, are forgotten and are rediscovered. Her work invites viewers to consider the silent narratives contained within the everyday and the potential for transformation inherent in materials often overlooked or discarded.
