Artist Profile

Monika Ivaskaite is an artist based in Vilnius, Lithuania, whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, drawing, writing, sewing, and photography. A graduate of the Painting Department at Vilnius Academy of Arts, where she received both her Bachelor of Fine Arts (2010–2014) and Master of Fine Arts (2014–2016), Ivaskaite explores themes of childhood, memory, and infantilism through a distinctive visual language. Her work is characterized by a deliberately naïve, child-like approach to painting and drawing, which serves as both an aesthetic choice and a conceptual framework. Balancing playfulness with reflection, she investigates the ways early experiences shape identity, perception, and emotional life, inviting viewers to reconsider the value of innocence, imagination, and vulnerability in contemporary culture.
