Artist Profile
Oxana Lazari
Moldovan artist
Oxana Lazari is a Moldovan artist whose practice is defined by her distinctive use of the dot art technique to create intricate, immersive compositions. Born in Glodeni, in northern Moldova, and originally trained in journalism at the Moldavian State University, Lazari is a self-taught artist who began her creative journey in 2018 before establishing herself as a full-time professional artist. Her work draws inspiration from the mysteries of the underwater world, outer space, and the richness of flora and fauna, often weaving these themes together into imaginative visual narratives where astronauts, marine life, and cosmic landscapes coexist. Characterised by densely layered surfaces and meticulous detail, her compositions invite prolonged observation, revealing new forms, symbols, and connections over time. Repeating motifs such as spirals, circles, and ornamental patterns create a kaleidoscopic effect that balances precision with wonder, encouraging viewers to engage with the work as both image and visual journey.
