Artist Profile
Marlies Dinnissen
Dutch jewellery artist
Marlies Dinnissen is a Dutch jewellery artist based in Arnhem, where she runs her independent studio in the city's creative Modekwartier. With a background in interior design, she found her artistic voice through metalwork and jewellery, developing a practice centered on craftsmanship, material reuse, and personal storytelling. Since 2014, she has created minimalist jewellery from recycled silver and locally sourced ceramic fragments, transforming broken heirlooms and discarded objects into contemporary pieces that preserve memory while embracing sustainable design. Through bespoke commissions, self-initiated collections, and community workshops, Dinnissen explores the emotional and environmental value of upcycling, demonstrating how everyday materials can be reimagined as meaningful, enduring objects.
