Artist Profile

Utubor Shadrach Melvin is a contemporary expressionist and figurative painter based in Lagos, Nigeria, and a graduate of Yaba College of Technology. His practice explores human emotion, identity, and lived experience through expressive brushwork and vibrant colour relationships. Working with a dynamic visual language that balances gesture and figuration, his paintings investigate the psychological and emotional dimensions of the human condition. Melvin is currently mentored by the contemporary Nigerian painter Edosa Oguigo, further developing a practice rooted in both technical refinement and personal expression.
