Artist Profile

Katherine Benson is a painter and MA Fine Art graduate of the University of Edinburgh (2021). Working primarily in small-scale oil paintings, her practice explores the representation of the female form and the emotional significance of domestic space. Through expressive brushwork and richly layered surfaces, she transforms intimate everyday moments into scenes that balance observation with dreamlike atmosphere. Centering women within interiors free from judgement or idealization, Benson's work celebrates female relationships, care, and the quiet rituals of daily life, offering a deeply personal reflection on memory, intimacy, and belonging.
