Arsène Dubois Welkin (b. 1993, Paris) is a self-taught painter and musician whose practice is guided by a search for simplicity, contemplation, and symbolic meaning. Raised in the pottery village of La Borne and later in the historic city of Arles before studying philosophy in Paris, his work reflects a dialogue between lived experience, intellectual inquiry, and poetic imagination. Through figurative painting, he depicts real and imagined figures surrounded by plants, animals, and symbolic motifs, creating quietly evocative compositions that explore the relationships between humanity, nature, and the inner world.
