Artist Profile

CanB (Béatrice Neirinckx) is a visual artist based on Réunion Island whose practice transforms discarded beverage cans into intricate contemporary mosaics that explore the relationships between humanity, nature, and material culture. Since 2012, the aluminum can has become both her primary medium and a powerful metaphor—representing the fragile boundary between the individual and the wider ecosystems to which we belong. Through the meticulous collection, cutting, and assembly of more than 130,000 recycled cans into shimmering "aluminum pixels," CanB creates works that reveal unexpected beauty in discarded materials while questioning consumerism, globalization, and environmental responsibility. Her compositions shift with the viewer's perspective: up close, they dissolve into vibrant fragments of colour, pattern, and reflection; from a distance, they coalesce into striking figurative images.
