Artist Profile
Lian Jhu
Artist from Taiwan
Lian Jhu (b. 1991, Kaohsiung, Taiwan) is an artist whose practice explores human existence through introspection, emotional experience, and the language of the painted figure. Through an ongoing process of reflection and creation, Jhu transforms personal thoughts and lived experiences into evocative inner imagery. The figures in the work extend beyond physical representation, becoming reflections of psychological and existential states—more than bodies, they function as mirrors of the self. Through painting, Jhu investigates the relationship between lived experience, inner perception, and self-understanding, using art as a means of reinterpreting both the world and the experience of being within it.
