Katarina Šegrt is a Croatian painter born in Koprivnica, whose practice brings together traditional painting techniques and a deep appreciation for cultural heritage. Trained as a fashion technician, her background in textiles informs a meticulous approach to surface, texture, and materiality, particularly in her preferred medium of oil on canvas. Drawing inspiration from folk motifs, history, and regional customs, Šegrt reinterprets timeless traditions through a contemporary visual language, creating works that bridge past and present.
