Artist Profile

Alexa Wright is a London-based artist working across photography, video, interactive installation, book works, and sculpture. Her practice explores what it means to be human, increasingly focusing on our interconnectedness with microbial communities and the wider natural world. Drawing on tactile processes and collaborations with medical scientists, Wright creates works that connect bodily experience, vulnerability, and repair with ecological concerns. In her recent Gathering Together series, she stitches collected leaves into delicate forms resembling spines, lungs, and protective shields, reflecting on healing, resilience, and the threatened forests of the world. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Kochi Biennale, FILE São Paulo, DaDaFest International, and Athens Photo Festival.
