Artist Profile

Liu Chang is a visual artist based in Islamabad whose practice centers on oriental peacock imagery, blending traditional Chinese ink, mineral pigments, and hand-laid gold leaf with contemporary artistic language. Her hand-painted works explore inner dignity, vitality, and poetic oriental aesthetics, while creating a dialogue between Eastern traditions and contemporary expression. Working across painting and mixed media, Liu develops original Black-Gold, Blue-Gold, and Purple-Gold series on rice paper, combining meticulous technique with rich material textures. Her works have been presented in international art exhibitions, and her practice seeks to foster cross-cultural exchange between East and South Asia.
