Liu Jiaxin is a Chinese visual artist born in Sichuan in 1995 and a graduate of the Department of Chinese Painting at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, where she earned her Master’s degree. Her practice focuses on contemporary realistic figure painting in ink, combining traditional wash-painting techniques with a distinctive contemporary visual language. Through diverse character studies, Jiaxin explores human experience and emotional states. Her 2020 series KILIG, centered on female mannequins, examines women’s inner feelings and living conditions, using the mannequin as a symbolic figure through which to reflect on identity, emotion, and contemporary life.
