Yu Kuramitsu
Japanese oil painter
Yu Kuramitsu is a Japanese oil painter whose practice explores spirit, love, loss, and the quiet connection between humanity, nature, and the universe. She began painting at the age of ten and studied oil painting for twelve years at Atelier Kawado, followed by three years at an art high school. Her international career includes an artist residency and solo exhibition at Pushkinskaya-10 in Saint Petersburg in 2012, as well as participation in the New Names art festival at the Museum of Non-Conformist Art in 2015, supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Working intuitively with her fingers and palette knives, Kuramitsu creates atmospheric paintings that move between the visible and invisible, inviting viewers to reconnect with their inner essence and experience a sense of freedom, grounding, and presence.
