Artist Profile

Bianca Carvalho de Araujo is a visual artist based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, whose practice explores memory, belonging, and the passage of time through photography, watercolor, and embroidery. Working with vernacular photographs, she transforms fragments of everyday life and personal histories through delicate marks, colors, and hand-stitched interventions. By combining the immediacy of photography with the slow, tactile process of embroidery, Araujo explores memory as something continually reconstructed, where document, recollection, and invention intersect. Her intimate works reflect on childhood, relationships, and the traces left by people and experiences over time.
