Artist Profile

Sara Hijawi is a self-taught emerging artist from Jordan whose practice explores colour, emotion, nature, and transformation through material reuse. She paints on discarded and damaged glass lighting pieces, transforming overlooked objects into unique canvases with renewed purpose. Working with expressive brushwork, spontaneous textures, and layered marks, Hijawi draws inspiration from landscapes, flowers, light, and water to convey feeling rather than simply reproduce the visible world. Her practice embraces creative reuse as an integral part of the artwork, reflecting on renewal, sustainability, and the potential for discarded objects to acquire new meaning.
