Artist Profile

Evgeniya Martirosyan is a visual artist based in Ireland, working across sculpture, installation, and time-based media. Her practice explores material transformation through sustained, process-led experimentation, particularly with discarded industrial materials. In Under Your Skin, approximately 600 reclaimed bicycle tyres and inner tubes are cut, woven, and knotted into an organic sculptural form, while Chrysalis reconfigures hundreds of discarded valves through hand-stitching with wire and steel. Through repetitive, labour-intensive processes, Martirosyan transforms industrial waste into new physical identities, exploring metamorphosis, renewal, and the evolving value of materials beyond their original function.
