Artist Profile

Iryna Tulchynska is a Ukrainian visual artist based in Sumy, working across pastel, painting, collage, and mixed media. Her practice explores memory, everyday life, and the transformation of familiar environments, examining how personal and collective histories are embedded in objects, materials, and places. Through the reuse and reworking of existing materials, she creates layered visual narratives in which traces of the past coexist with images of change and disruption. Her approach combines material experimentation with a sensitivity to the emotional associations of ordinary things, reflecting on themes of loss, resilience, and the persistence of memory. Tulchinska is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and the Pastel Guild of Ukraine.
