Artist Profile
Sabrina Shah
UK-based painter
Drawing is fundamental to Sabrina's work and she enjoys the immediacy of drawing with paint. Born in Worcestershire, UK, she graduated with a first class degree in Fine Art from the University of Brighton in 2009, before studying at The Prince's Drawing School (now the Royal Drawing School) and Royal College of Art. Her paintings are made using excessive techniques, heavy and glossy liquids, considering the process as part of the form. The history of the painting becomes part of the image. Sabrina relies on undisclosed desires and problems to make their way to the surface. Sabrina has exhibited widely including Bad Behaviour 2014, The National Open, Marmite Art Prize, John Moores Painting Prize and The Open West.
