Born in 1991, Andrea Evangelou lives and works in Limassol, Cyprus. As a person she likes melodrama, quietness, simplicity and she is drawn into dramatic poses and the endless aesthetic of the human body’s materiality. Since Andrea has always strived to peer what is outside her “comfort zone” she has never settled down to one painting style. Her portraits have become a lot more abstract since her earlier work, due to the fact that as a young artist she was always more focused on mastering the technical aspects of the painting rather than focusing on what she would draw, its nature, its movements, its flaws etc.
