Artist Profile

Abdelaziz Lourhraz is a Moroccan painter and visual arts teacher, born in Youssoufia and currently living and working in Agadir. His practice explores the dialogue between abstraction and figuration through colour, texture, and gesture. Inspired by the light of southern Morocco, Moroccan heritage, cultural identity, and human experience, he transforms personal memories and collective recollections into expressive visual compositions. Through traces, forms, and layered surfaces, his paintings explore the relationship between intimate experience and shared cultural memory. In series such as Réminiscence, Lourhraz approaches painting as a space for remembrance, transformation, and artistic freedom. His work has been presented in numerous exhibitions and artistic events in Morocco and internationally.
