Artist Profile
Abdulkareem Silifat Ozioma
Nigerian multidisciplinary artist
Abdulkareem Silifat Ozioma is a Nigerian multidisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in memory, healing, and cultural identity. Born in Kogi State and carrying the heritage of the Aningere blacksmith lineage, she draws from stories of resilience, childhood experiences, and ancestral echoes to shape a visual language that is both intimate and expansive. Working with acrylic and reclaimed materials—including discarded plastic, fabric, and dried paint—she transforms overlooked fragments into textured paintings and sculptural forms that honor imperfection and celebrate the possibility of renewal. Her work explores identity, womanhood, decolonization, and the layered nature of the inner self, often revealing a duality between personal truth and societal expectation. Beyond her studio, she extends art as a tool for emotional restoration through Scribble Art Therapy Street Outreach, offering free community-based sessions that help people reconnect with honesty, memory, and unspoken emotion. Exhibited across Nigeria in platforms such as Made in Nigeria Art Exhibition, Life in My City Art Festival, The Emergence Exhibition, and the Bamboo Lakeside showcase, Silifat continues to build a practice where storytelling, material transformation, and healing converge.
